IINDEPENDENT WRITER AND EDITOR
June 2004 to present
Write articles for consumer and trade magazines and newspapers.  Also provide writing and editing services for nonprofit organizations and corporations.
Key Accomplishments:
• Author of “The Newbie Dad,” a monthly column appearing in Western New York Family, Charlotte Parent, and the New York Post’s Family Publications group magazines, reaching a combined circulation of approximately 200,000.  The column was named one of the nation’s top parenting humor columns at the 2007 Parenting Publications of America editorial awards competition.  The column has also been heard on National Public Radio’s Morning Edition in Buffalo and has been published in more than a dozen regional parenting magazines and on Fatherville.com.
• Published a collection of parenting columns in the book, Stay-at-Home Dad. Stay. Good Boy., from CafePress (March 2007).  Also had essays from “The Newbie Dad” published in the books, Amazing Grace for Families (2007) and Amazing Grace for Fathers (2006), from Ascension Press.  
• Edited the book, The Battle Over School Prayer: How Engel v. Vitale Changed America, for author Bruce Dierenfield, Ph.D.  The book was released in 2007 as part of the University Press of Kansas’ “Landmark Law Cases and American Society” series and was awarded the prestigious Langum Prize in American Legal History for 2007.

Provided management and editorial services for all content related to promoting the College, including print and web-based communications.  Specific duties included: serving as editor of Medaille’s full-color alumni magazine and annual report and editor of web content and print/e-newsletter.
